| Katie (Jessica Simpson) is a small town girl who moves to New York City, originally with intent of visiting her boyfriend, but quickly dissuaded when she finds him cheating, she decides to find her dreams. Unfortunately, she is a small town girl, and two big fish, namely Freddy (Andy Dick) and Debra (Penelope Ann Miller), hope to use her for their own purposes. They help her land a great job, where she meets Ben (Luke Wilson), and falls in love. But Ben has a secret and Freddy and Debra hope to use Katie to oust Ben and make their big move to the top.
